Hello to my Westwood friends!

Hi 2nd graders! I hope you are doing well and learning a lot! I just wanted to check in and see how everyone was. AND I figured you'd be excited to hear that my students here in New Zealand play Fortnite too.

I am heading to camp in a few weeks with my Year 6 (5th graders in the U.S.) so I headed over there to check it out on Thursday. They have Gaga ball! Some of the camp counselors there worked for a summer in the U.S. and saw it being played, so they decided to borrow the idea and build a pit. How cool!

The picture above is the view from a ferry my friends and I took to an island off the coast of Auckland yesterday! It was fun to see a different part of NZ and to bus around the island for a day.

Hello!! The last few weeks have been really busy for me! Two weekends ago, my friend Jess and I rented a car and headed to the tip top point of New Zealand, which was a really fun time. It was wild to see Jess driving on the other side of the ride, since that's the rules here. We saw many waterfalls and beaches and camped overnight up north.

Year 6 Camp with my students turned out to be a really fun and tiring time, as you can imagine. I got to go slip and sliding, help with a haunted night walk for the kids, sleep in a camp cabin for 2 nights, try many new New Zealand foods, and a bunch of other things!

This weekend I flew down to Queenstown on the South Island for our long weekend break with some of my friends here with me from St. Norbert. One of the days we were there, we went on a cruise boat and headed out on Milford Sound, a BEAUTIFUL inlet from the ocean. I saw real life penguins and seals in the wild!! It was awesome! The above picture is just one of the gorgeous views I saw that day. Doesn't it look like a painting? I still can't believe I get to live in such a wonderful place for awhile.
